The development of the proposed large scale, cyanide leach gold mine would undermine the integrety of Buckhorn Mountain and contaminate our waters for a pickup truck load of gold. Large scale multinational gold mining threatens the wildlife habitat, natural beauty, economy and quality of life in Okanogan County.

  • Shortsighted industrialization of our community would shatter the serenity of the highlands for residents and visitors.
  • Water, soil, and air could be contaminated by dust, acid mine drainage, heavy metal toxins and cyanide.

  • The existing tailing impoundment would be expand using the cheapest and unsafe methods.

  • Mining companies get rich, pay no royalties for extractions of wealth.
